The Village Clerk is appointed for a term of two years. The Village Clerk is responsible for maintaining the Village records and files. The Clerk also is the front line liaison between the residents and the various boards and committees and distributes the concerns of the residents to the appropriate Village personnel for action.
The Village Clerk also attends all the meetings of The Board of Trustees and keeps a complete and accurate recording of the proceedings.
The Village Clerk manages Village accounts payable.
The Village Clerk serves as the Collector of Taxes for the Village.
As the records management official of the Village, the Village Clerk processes Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests.
The Village Clerk also has various duties in connection with the election and appointment of Village officials.
